Frequently Asked Question and Answers
Q. How far apart should the Leyland/Green Giants be planted?
A. If a residential area, or for privacy, we recommend 6-8' (one foot off of your property line--for courtesy laws). The closer you plant them-the sooner they touch sideways creating a boarder. Please note-Leyland cypress trees grow out (in circumference) then up.
Q. What are they most commonly used for?
A. Most people choose to use them for property boarders, privacy, and wind screening. They are one of the fastest growing evergreen available-making them a preferred tree for this purpose.
Q. Are they easy to care for?
A. They are hearty growers and are easy to care for-as long as they are well cared for the first year with regular watering. We also will give our customers instructions on how to care for their new trees when they are installed.
Q. How do you install/plant them?
A. Once we arrive at your property each one of our trees is hand walked to location and hand planted with extreme care as to not damage your landscape. Each of my workers are trained by me and given the instruction that each tree is to be planted as if you are planting it for your own mother! Prior to planting, you have the option to inspect our high quality trees to make sure you are satisfied prior to installation.
Q. What time of year do you plant?
A. We begin planting in early spring (generally beginning of March) and plant into early summer (generally in sometime in June). We then resume planting come September and continue until late November. We can plant in the summer but do not recommend due to how dry and hot it is and the risk of them not surviving.
Q. Do you offer a warranty or guarantee?
A. NO. We do not offer a warranty or a guarantee. At the time of delivery you will receive a healthy, well cared for tree with instructions on proper care and maintenance-if these directions are followed then the tree will thrive and grow. We assume no responsibility for the tree once it is installed as it is now your property and your responsibility to make sure that the tree is cared for.
